Special Considerations

Whenever people decide to make any sort of changes to be healthier, it’s ALWAYS a good idea to talk to your doctor about what you want to do. PLEASE make sure that you are physically able to do whatever exercise you choose to. While we think that Nordic Walking is a fabulous exercise for almost everyone (and medical research confirms this), we also want to make sure that YOUR healthcare provider has cleared you for Nordic Walking or whatever other activity you choose to do for FUN movement every day.
If you have not exercised for a very long time, you will need to start moving at a very low level. Please do not let this bother you or make you feel ashamed or sad. Be happy that you are starting where you are!!! If your goal is to walk for one minute per day, and you achieve it, we want to know about it so we can applaud you. We hope that when you are comfortable with that one minute of movement per day you will add another minute, and then another and another, until you are feeling healthier and fabulous.
Sometimes when we have not paid attention to ourselves we don’t want to go out in public or let others see us because we are afraid of what they may think or say. Elizabeth and I have been there, done that. We understand your concerns and will always treat you with respect.
We are all works in progress. We hope that this website will be useful to you as you adopt healthy habits, and that you will join us online and/or in person as you explore the joy that comes with making positive lifestyle changes.
